Ana Vinagre, originally from Portugal, has been singing Fado since she was very young. Fado singing is based in Portuguese song and dance genre with a Moorish origin and originally has been a maritime style. It is usually sung with guitar-like instruments, which play cross-rhythms against the vocal melody.She has performed in the U.S., Canada, Portugal, and Bermuda.

Ana and her husband Jose perform frequently to non-portuguese audiences where they translate the songs and talk about their origin. They discuss Portuguese history and where FADO fits in its culture. They will be accompanied by Jose Silva on Portuguese guitar and Giriato Ferreira on viola.
